Champ

Treatments: Oxygen Therapy, Fluid Therapy

Status: Deceased

On 11th February, 2024, Champ, a severely injured cat, was found in Al Quoz. He had a broken spine, maggots infesting his wounds, an inflamed bladder, and was severely malnourished, even passing blood in his urine. Despite efforts, Champ’s rare blood group B, unavailable in UAE’s blood banks, contributed to his demise. Dr. Waseem of Pawsitive Motorcity noted he was only the second known feline with B blood group in the country.

Champ received immediate care at Pawsitive, where the veterinary team worked to alleviate his suffering, removing maggots and providing pain relief. Tragically, his condition worsened due to anemia from severe blood loss and trauma. In the end, Champ found comfort in Pawsitive’s caring environment before passing away.

This heartbreaking incident underscores the necessity of prompt veterinary care and awareness of animal neglect. Pawse’s vision aims to prevent such cases by ensuring timely help for all cats and providing safe housing for feline friends.
